Let Love Out jewelry is created by a family, to honor a brother, and to share the message of universal love and tolerance.
The beautiful symbol, an interlocking heart and infinity sign, was designed by Carl Priolo, in honor of his brother, Chris, who died of AIDS. Carl is known for the custom designs he, and his son, Lucas Priolo, create for their store, Sofia Jewelry, in Mill Valley, California.
In January 2011, after a spate of suicides by young people being outed and bullied, Carl and his family felt they could no longer stand by and do nothing. The design for Let Love Out came quickly to Carl. He sketched it on a napkin, carved it in wax, and made it production ready so that it could be cast in silver, gold or bronze and made in the family jewelry studio in Northern California.
Everyone responds positively to the design and the message. Some people see love knot jewelry, others see the infinity sign, while others see Let Love Out as heart jewelry. Many refer to it as the modern day Peace Sign. The common thread is that everyone gets it right away. Some people have even felt moved to use the design as a tattoo.
